Living Libations Best Skin Ever Seabuckthorn 100ml

$106.00

One bottle. Cleanser, exfoliator, moisturiser. This is the one that started the line and still the one most people reach for first.

Oil cleansing works on a simple principle. Like dissolves like. The oil finds the oil already sitting in the pore, the sunscreen, the makeup, the day, and carries it off on a warm cloth. Jojoba leads here, a liquid plant wax so close to our own sebum that skin rarely reads it as foreign. What's left behind is a barrier that hasn't been argued with.

Seabuckthorn gives this one its deep apricot colour and most of its reputation. The berry oil holds omegas 3, 6, 7 and 9, a combination you don't often find in a single plant, along with carotenoids and vitamin C. Around it: tamanu for density, lavender to soften the scent and settle the skin, vetiver to hold water in, grapefruit and palmarosa to lift and brighten. The overall note is warm, faintly citrus, a little green underneath.

Who it's for

Almost everyone. Of all the Best Skin Evers this is the least particular, and the sensible place to begin if you've never cleansed with oil before or can't decide between them. Especially good on skin that feels congested, dull, or tired of being scrubbed. Gentle enough for teenagers. Good from the jaw down as well.

How to use it

On the face, dampen a corner of a cloth and wring it well. One or two pumps onto the wet section. Work it over the face and down the neck, softly for a straight cleanse or with more pressure when skin wants exfoliating. You can rinse or leave it. If it still feels thirsty, another pump warmed between the palms and pressed in will finish it.

On the body, don't dry off after your shower. A few pumps onto a wet washcloth and work down from the shoulders, firmer over elbows, knees and heels.

A single drop through wet hair ends keeps frizz down. It's also good on the scalp before a wash, and after a long day outdoors.

Give the pump a couple of firm presses to prime a new bottle. The oil is richly pigmented, so keep it clear of pale towels.

Ingredients

Hippophae rhamnoides (Seabuckthorn), Simmondsia chinensis (Jojoba), Cocos nucifera (Virgin Coconut), Calophyllum inophyllum (Tamanu), Lavandula angustifolia (Lavender), Chrysopogon zizanioides (Vetiver), Citrus paradisi (Grapefruit), Cymbopogon martini (Palmarosa).

Wildcrafted and organic, made in small batches. Colour, scent and thickness will shift a little between bottles.
