This one contains water, which most of the Living Libations range does not. Spring water, aloe and rose hydrosol at the top of the list, whipped with shea butter, jojoba and seabuckthorn into a pale pink emulsion held together by orange and rose wax. The result behaves like a moisturiser rather than an oil. It gives skin something to drink as well as something to hold onto.
Underneath sit five herbs individually infused into jojoba: green tea, elderflower, rosehip, horsetail, marshmallow root. Then the essential oils, rose otto and neroli and immortelle among them, and the scent is unmistakably rose without being heavy.
Serum or crème
The serum is all lipid, light, and disappears fast. The crème carries water and stays. Dry skin usually wants the crème. Skin that's more dull than dry often prefers the serum. Used together, serum first and crème over the top, they do more than either alone, which is presumably the intention.
Who it's for
Dry, tight, mature or weather-worn skin. Skin that has never been satisfied by an oil alone. Good for day or night.
How to use it
After cleansing, massage into the face and neck. Morning, night, or both.
Under sunscreen in the morning. At night you can press a few drops of a Best Skin Ever over the top to seal it.
Clean, dry fingers each time. Water-based formulas without synthetic preservatives are more vulnerable than oils, so keep the jar out of the shower and away from heat.
